Sobre "Mirando al cielo también se aprende - Alcolea del Rio"

On the night of August 14, at 11.00pm,  we invite you to embark on a fascinating journey through the universe from Tomares (Seville), guided by the Astromares Association. We’ll begin with an introductory talk designed for all audiences, where you'll learn the basics of astronomy, the apparent movements of celestial objects, the most prominent constellations, and what deep-sky objects like galaxies, clusters, and nebulae really are. We’ll also explore the Perseids—the famous August meteor shower—why it happens, how to observe it, and what makes it so special. A perfect introduction to help you see the night sky with new eyes!

After the talk, we’ll move on to direct observation through telescopes, taking advantage of a moonless night to explore stunning galaxies like M81 and M82, star clusters such as M13 and M22, and planetary nebulae like M57. Finally, we’ll lie back under the stars to enjoy the Perseids at their peak, watching meteors streak across the sky in an unforgettable experience. Our guides will be on hand to answer questions and help you make the most of this astronomical adventure. No prior knowledge is needed—just your curiosity and wonder for the cosmos!
